Annual Events
IBISKA staff have a strong commitment to our community. We are always always looking for opportunities to participate through fund raising events and community focused environmental projects.
Clean the Capital
Over the past 8 years, IBISKA employees have participated in the City of Ottawa “Clean the Capital” program. We have focused our efforts at the Rideau Canal Locks and alongside the Ottawa River, a beautiful site that welcomes residents and tourists through the summer months. Many garbage bags have been filled every year.
Canoe for Kids
IBISKA staff have participated in the Christie Lake Kids, “Canoe For Kids” event since 2005, a fun canoe race held early in June at Mooney’s Bay. The event helps raise funds to enable children and youth living in poverty in our community to attend the Christie Lake summer camp.
Christie Lake Kids provides these children and youths with the opportunity to attend the 2 weeks summer camp at Christie Lake in the summer and also to participate in after school programs in the city throughout the year. All this at no charge and with all equipment and transportation provided throughout the year both in the inner city and at camp.
IBISKA’s team has won first place in fund raising the past five years. Together, IBISKA and staff contributed $18,000 for the cause in 2017.
Dragon Boat ‘Pan American Club Crew Championships (PACCC)’
Cathy Loosley from IBISKA is a tireless fund raiser and a spirited Dragon Boat Race participant. The Dragon Boat Foundation helps raise funds for local charities including Children At Risk, Heartwood House, Helping With Furniture, Shepherds Of Good Hope and Youth Services Bureau.

Tree Planting
IBISKA provided 50 treelings and a strong planting crew to help the City of Ottawa with the forestation of a strip of land along Strandherd Rd in Barrhaven. The IBISKA crew joined local residents in their effort to add a bit of nature to their corner of the city.
